Victory against imperialism belongs to the people!
Today, we witness an undeniable resurgence in various forms of mass struggles against imperialism headed by the US. Oppressed and exploited peoples across the world now undertake huge demonstrations, strikes and campaigns against their single-biggest and common enemy. Imperialist barbarism and abuse have become so unbearable that big protests have rocked the imperialists in their own countries. In a significant number of countries, people are waging armed struggle against imperialism and its puppet regimes.

Over the past two centuries, the socio-economic development of most of the countries and nations of the world have been stunted and distorted as international trade, investment and “economic cooperation” fulfill the insatiable desire of monopoly capital from the few imperialist countries for higher and higher super profits.
And yet, while development seems terribly skewed in favor of imperialist countries, sections of the working people in these advanced industrialized countries suffer from extreme deprivation due to exploitation, unemployment and lack of social services. Their condition is different from that of the working people and indigenous communities in the oppressed and exploited countries who are displaced and impoverished due to modern colonization, but they too feel a harsh change in their fortunes.

Human rights must be recognized, respected, upheld and defended in all its dimensions civil and political, economic, social, and cultural. Every human being has the right to life and his/her dignity should be respected. These principles, inspired by the ideals of liberty, equality and freedom, are enscribed in different international instrumentalities like the UN 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights which purportedly provided an international standard for the respect and promotion of human rights and placed the responsibility on signatory states to guarantee and accord these rights to its citizens. But, its 50th anniversary in 1998 has come and gone but the world remains very far from achieving human rights for majority of the people of the world.
