By Professor JOSE MARIA SISON
Chairperson, International Coordinating Committee
Introduction
I wish to convey warmest greetings of solidarity to all the distinguished guests and observers, to my colleagues in the International Coordinating Committee (ICC), to all delegations and to all participating organizations of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS).
Let us honor and thank the recently-departed first ICC chairperson and honorary chairperson of the ILPS Rep. Crispin Beltran and the ICC member Dr. Ahmad Maslamani for their significant contributions to the anti-imperialist democratic movement of the people. Let us salute all who have contributed to the consolidation and expansion of the movement.

I am to pen down this address at a time when I don’t know whether I could attend this significant Assembly of World’s People’s Struggles as I haven’t been granted a passport by the Indian authorities.
I am greatly honoured to have been invited to deliver the keynote address to the Third International Assembly of the International League of People’s Struggles (ILPS). As a revolutionary poet from India, I salute the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggles which have come together on the banner of ILPS from all the continents. I value this organization of toiling masses of the world with great respect and hope because the need of the hour is to fight imperialism unitedly by all oppressed peoples and end it forever to usher in a new world based on egalitarian principles. Imperialism is the last epoch of oppressive social order in the long march of human society world over, which divided all humans into classes, castes, nations and all varieties of divisions.

The second aim was to subvert and subdue the national-democratic revolutions in the colonies and semi-colonies. The anticommunist crusade of the Cold War was the culmination of this plan.

To fight for alternative solutions and for structural reforms (that is to say, for intermediate objectives) is not to fight for improvements in the capitalist system; it is rather to break it up, to restrict it, to create counter powers which, instead of creating a new equilibrium, undermines its very foundation.

Long before a young first time senator from Illinois, of Kenyan descent and with a funny sounding name like Barrack Obama, transfixed the world on his march towards the highest political office in the United States, former President Bill Clinton, billed as the most “black” President of the US, had this to say on his last sojourn to Africa;
